New Update Released v1.2.33 and Next Update Plans

Small Polish Update 1.2.33

Includes:

  • helmet glass overlay (gives more of the feeling of looking through a mask rather than crystal clear space)
  • weapon movement animation (this has been missing for a while but it's just the classic weapon sway when moving)
  • the player has a body model (when the player looks down, they will see Giedi's (the player protagonist's) body rather than nothing at all)

These won't change any of the game's story or major mechanics. Just polish up for the game's style.

What else is going to be in this game in the future?

Planned Improvements:

These are the features to be fully expanded upon until the game is a complete, cohesive and fully engaging experience.

  1. Immersive Alien Environment: Explore a richly detailed and visually stunning space station filled with diverse and exotic alien creatures, creating a captivating and immersive experience for players.
  2. Unique Alien Capture Mechanics: Engage in thrilling encounters with alien creatures and utilize a variety of tools and gadgets, such as the electric sci-fi stun pistol, shotgun, and crossbow, to capture and contain them.
  3. Upgradeable Arsenal: Collect in-game currency and unlock upgrades for your weapons and equipment, allowing players to enhance their abilities and effectiveness in capturing the alien creatures.
  4. Challenging Puzzles: Encounter various puzzles and challenges throughout the game that require critical thinking and problem-solving skills. These puzzles can range from environmental obstacles to creature-related conundrums, adding depth and variety to the gameplay.
  5. Engaging Storyline: Experience a captivating narrative as Giedi Satellite, an aspiring space adventurer, with a mysterious past, diving into the secrets of the alien wildlife and uncovering the true intentions of the station's inhabitants.
  6. Unique Companion Alien: Forge a bond with a unique alien companion who not only assists in combat but also morphs into different forms to provide additional abilities and support, adding a fresh and dynamic element to the gameplay.
  7. Psychological Horror Elements: Immerse yourself in a psychological horror atmosphere, with eerie sound design, unsettling environments, and unexpected twists that keep players on the edge of their seats.
  8. Multiple Endings: Make impactful choices throughout the game that influence the story's outcome, leading to multiple possible endings, providing replayability and encouraging players to explore different paths.
  9. Strategic Gameplay: Employ strategic thinking and careful planning to capture the alien creatures efficiently while managing resources and staying one step ahead of the evolving challenges.
  10. Atmospheric Soundtrack: Enjoy a haunting and immersive soundtrack that enhances the game's atmosphere, amplifying the tension, and creating a memorable and immersive experience.

with that established...

Here's where the game is in development currently:

  1. The environment is scifi enough. It could always use more paint but this feature is definitely already on course.
  2. Besides the stun pistol, stun shotgun, stun sword and alien crossbow, I want to add a few more gadgets to give the game more dynamics rather than the player just shooting all of the their problems.
  3. This is the feature I'm most excited for and will probably work on first. I want to give the player more incentive to pick up the coins in-game to upgrade their weapons and skills/gadgets. Thus, another reason to make new gadgets rather than just guns.
  4. Puzzles are very few and far between in the current version, if you can call them puzzles. Maybe lead some characters to a door or unblock a hidden switch. I'd like to add more mechanical puzzles that require thinking but not too much digging for the answer. I want people to feel engaged but not like I put a math quiz in front of them.
  5. I think the story is developing the best out of these features. The plot has recently been improved to extend the game from where it ends in this current version. It'll give players a little twist and make the game feel like it dropped you even further into the pit just as you thought you had it figured out.
  6. The little logo alien, I call 'em Logos, turns into a crossbow and gets a small upgrade in the current version but he doesn't have any other forms. Maybe he's the key to the missing weapon/gadget upgrade dilemma.
  7. This design esthetic is already underway.
  8. The game has only one ending as of now. It would be nice to give the player 3 different endings based on some key actions they took in the game.
  9. The game doesn't require much strategy as of now. Just use your ammo sparingly. Maybe this could be kept in mind as more is developed.
  10. I really do like the audio tracks I've been using already. I will have to add more as the game extends.
