Really Pushing to Finish Early Access

I've taken the advice to cut the project down to make it more reachable as a goal to finish.

Here's how many features the game was going to have:
  1. Inventory
  2. Lobby/Town Scene with an Item Shop
  3. 2 Item Combining Mechanic
  4. 6 Different Weapons
  5. 8 Levels
  6. (At least) 8 Different Rooms Per Level (That's 64! And That's only 2 combinations of room per direction per level)
  7. 4 Boss Fight Scenes
  8. 8 Survivors to find (each with their own cutscene)
  9. Several Different Endings Based on which items and survivors were found
  10. So much dialog it would practically be a book. And if ya want branching dialog and outcomes... just stop)

Ok, so that's what the proposed project was to be about 8 months to a year ago right?

This is what the project has been cut down to so it can be actually finished:
  1. 7 Levels
  2. 3 Boss Fight Levels
  3. 3 Possible Endings
  4. 3 Different Weapons
  5. 3 Survivors

That's It!

This is something reachable. Obtainable. Do-able!

This is still a lot. Don't get me wrong. But it still requires me to add something to interact with and read up on in each room.

For example: One room may have a plant to look at.

Another room may have something else to find.

I have to be really creative with these areas in the game to make the game interesting.

I am bound and determined to get the whole project finished and released on itch and Steam asap. That way I can say I finally finished one whole commercially sold game. It will still take time and effort, but the finish line is way closer than it was a while ago.

At this point, I can see the end of the tunnel. It still needs some pass-overs to fill it with more interesting things and polish, but I'm getting closer to the finish line.
