Progress Notes 9/14/2021-9/26/2021



The new gate and switch is ready.

My only real concern lately is the dead ends at the end of the halls. Yeah, the player can find a few items in the rooms at the end, but nobody wants to back track.


The plan is to create a system that spawns vents in the rooms that will bring the player to another room. Even the classic Rogue game had paths leading to multiple rooms.

... several days later...

I created a vent system that eliminates the dead end problem. The vents are randomly paired too! It's fun to see which room the vent leads to once interacted with. There's no crawling in the vents either.

*Somehow got on this guy's back without him attacking. Another unintended behavior. Sometimes, I am completely blown away by how these aliens react with the "alien" code I wrote.


*these indoor park rooms were transformed into hallways to give them purpose and break up the monotony.



*this guy got stuck on a cabinet door. Constantly finding things that need pathfinding obstacles

The ammo system has been improved. It goes by the bullet rather than a full clip per reload.
